Meet The Artist Behind The Brand

Jessica Camper

Jessica Camper is the quiet, artistic genius often found behind the scenes.

With a long list of clients across all mediums Jessica’s work can be seen in film, television, print, and celebrity showcases.

Featured in Allure magazine as one of the top make-up artists in her field, Jessica is best known for her incredible customized color that she mixes for her clients before every shoot. Examples of Jessica’s work include award-winning ads for companies such as Microsoft, Nike, Specialized Bicycles, and many others. Working with agencies such as Wieden+Kennedy and Y&R, She is in demand for a myriad of celebrity events in Hollywood.

Jessica also served as Global Education Director/Chief Make-up Artist for Josie Maran Cosmetics. Jessica has also worked as an educator and marketing wiz for some of the most iconic brands out there, as well as indie companies looking to make a splash. Odds are, you haven’t heard of her, but you have witnessed her work. Jessica Camper has left her mark in the world of cosmetics.

Jessica comes from an entertainment lineage. Her father, Ron Fricke, is an American film director and cinematographer. He is renowned for time-lapse photography and large format cinematography and directed the purely cinematic non-verbal non-narrative feature Baraka. It’s no great mystery that the daughter of an artist would become one herself.

“I was obsessed with art and creation as a child.  I grew up seeing the world through beautiful images my father created.  I was most definitely exposed to different kinds of beauty, which influenced me at a very early age.  I believe beauty should be more than a product we apply.  Beauty is a celebration of ones true self in this very moment, an extension of joy we wish to share with our self and the world.  Can lipstick or eyeshadow change the world?  Not hardly.  But the woman wearing it sure can.  A woman empowered with her natural born beauty and inner self, now that’s a force to be reckoned with.”

Jessica’s most recent venture has been eagerly awaited,  the creation of her own brand, Moonplay Cosmetics, a high-performance, luxury color cosmetics brand based in Los Angeles.
